RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process through which adults are welcomed into the Community as fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. RCIA begins with a time of inquiry into the Catholic faith and practices and moves through stages leading to celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at Easter. Formation involves catechesis on the teachings of Christ, faith, sacraments and practices of the Catholic Church. This is accomplished through regular presentation, discussions, prayer and ritual. Each adult is sponsored throughout this process by another fully initiated Catholic adult. RCIA is for all adults who are considering becoming a Catholic whether not yet baptized or baptized in another Christian tradition. Please contact Marianne Boesch, RCIA Coordinator, in the office 248-627-3965, ext. 131.
Alpha Program- Is a series of sessions exploring our Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe and everyone is welcome. First there’s food, then a talk, followed by discussion. We will be offering free childcare for children who are under the age of 12. Students who are in grades 7-12 are also welcome to join us in discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity for youth, young adults and seasoned adults to join together to discuss our faith. Those new or inquiring about our Catholic faith are also encouraged to attend.
Attend one or all of our sessions this fall. To register, simply call the parish office the Monday before class of that week. Let us know how many will be attending and if childcare is needed. This will help us plan dinner and childcare accommodations.
